The incumbent will assist to Manager Operational Risk for providing effective operational & fraud risk analysis to aid in the development and implementation of sound operational risk polices & procedures while optimizing operational risk/return trade off.
1. Development & implementation of operational risk management policy, framework, procedures & strategies:
Assist MOR in designing, development, implementation/ maintenance of operational risk management strategies, limits, framework, policies and procedures to mitigate / minimize losses resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people and systems or external events and to support bank wide Risk Management.
2. Development & implementation of operational risk management tools:
Prepare & compile data for Risk & Control Self Assessment (RCSA) of Business Units.
Prepare & compile data for Operational Key Risk Indicators (OKRIs) of Business Units.
Prepare analysis reports on results of operational risk tools on regular & timely basis.
Analyze the results for continuous updating of operational risk tools as per Bank changing environment.
3. Operational risk assessment of branches/business units:
Execution of operational risk assessment of branches and business units and prepare revenant gap reports by visiting sample branches/business units to oversee the effectiveness of control implemented and independent review.
4. Analyze operations & fraud risk data:
Conduct root cause analysis of frauds for executive management, the board, regulators and other key stakeholders as & when required. And make recommendations through MOR & CRO for improvements.
Analyzing operational results of operational processes, people and systems & external events and provide recommendations.
To assist in development of new reporting and enhance existing
reporting & presentation formats. Support analysis with various dimensions of different operating areas and validate operational risk models performance and provide recommendations accordingly.
Prepare periodic reports & analysis for executive management, the board, regulators and other key stakeholders as & when required.
5. Review of Bank policies, procedures and systems:
Conducting periodic review of Bank policies, procedures and systems for identifications of gaps and to ensure regulations are adhered to at-least and banking best practices are being proposed as a proactive approach where needed.
Assist in review & maintenance of centralized loss database in accordance with BASEL/SBP guidelines.
Coordinate with other departments/ business units where needed i.e. for fraud analysis, loss database maintenance, Insurance coverage, etc.
Assist in review & conducting analysis on inspection, internal, external review & audit reports and complaints.
Assist in follow-up and resolution of all meeting minutes, decisions taken, recommendations of the management with concerned departments/ management, etc.
Assist MOR in conducting workshops.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned by management.
Educational Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other attributes
Minimum 16 years of education from foreign/HEC recognized university, in business administration/commerce/accounting/ finance or economics.
Four to five years experience of audit / credit / financial accounts / risk management / retail management in an audit firm or corporate / multinational organization.
Must have strong understanding of fraud & forgery concepts and well versed with industry trends and fraud mitigation options coupled with strong investigation / analytical & reporting skills.
Strong analytical, interpersonal and communications skills.
Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
Holds no bars against travel and relocation.
Highly proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications and inclined towards working in a technology-driven environment
